Is there a hypothyroid diet connection?

Most doctors will usually say no to this question if asked.

The most common cause of hypothyroidism worldwide is iodine deficiency.

When there is insufficient quantities of this mineral in a person’s food, iodine deficiency occurs.

This happens to be a link between dietary habits and hypothyroidism.

In countries that are underdeveloped, the simply solution to this issues is to add more iodine to a person’s eating regimen.

But if you happen to live in the United States, this is not a problem that can be fixed by simply adding more iodine to your diet.

It could help if you have a deficiency.

Iodine may not help you because the most common cause of hypothyroidism in the U.S. is Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. This is an autoimmune disorder, which the cause is unknown.

Proper eating is a necessary part of the treatment for Hashimoto’s given that environment and food is the most common cause of disease in general.
